Canadian Overseas School
Committee/International Parents’ Representation
The role of the Canadian Overseas School Committee is
to assist the school staff in planning, organizing and directing various school
activities and projects, which fall outside but support the curriculum of the
schools, i.e., field trips. In addition the committee is instrumental in
soliciting and acquiring funds from various business organizations which are
directed towards Canadian Student Scholarships and awards. The School committee, appointed for AFNORTH
International School (Canadian Section), is to represent the views and concerns
of the parents on education matters to the military and school
authorities. In association with the
Canadian parents on this committee are also representatives from our
International communities. The aim of
the Canadian School Committee is extended to provide assistance to our
international students who are now aligned to the Canadian Section.
The
Booster Club is a non-profit organization officially recognized by the military
and school communities. The function of
the organization is raising funds to support extra-curricular programs at
AFNORTH International Middle/High School. Although the primary focus is
athletic activities the Booster Club does support other co/extra-curricular
program. Membership is open to anyone. Meetings are conducted monthly and
everyone is welcome. Please become involved, join the Booster Club and support
the students of AFNORTH.
PTSA (Parent Teacher Student
Association)
The AFNORTH PTSA is a non-profit organization that
volunteers time and resources to help make AFNORTH International School a
healthier learning environment. The PTSA has a commitment to the students of
this international community. Monthly meetings are held to discuss a wide range
of topics and issues. In addition, numerous fund raising activities are
performed, with the proceeds returned to the students through individual and
group applications.
The PTSA’s commitment: To help its members understand
the real needs of children and to provide opportunities, individually and
collectively, to meet these needs. To pass along, undamaged and enriched, the
heritage of activities and insights which have stood the test of years, not
hesitating to adopt them boldly and creatively to match the needs and
opportunities of today and of the unpredictable future. To, as assigned by
human conscience, transform discontent and dissatisfaction into action for
change and improvement, to make good intentions become living realities.
