Mission Statement:
The mission of the AFNORTH School Information Center program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
About the IC:
The IC is a "people place" and its retrieval systems serve as the hub of the school's educational activities. Children and staff are encouraged to visit, browse, read and explore, as well as sign out books and materials. Students may come with their class or individually to choose books, work on assignments, conduct independent research or read. The classroom teachers and the IC staff work together on the integration of the curriculum. The IC program aims to integrate the activities of the classroom by providing a selection of suitable materials as well as the use of computer technology to meet the needs of our students, thus promoting independent reading and learning so students will become life-long learners.
The IC serves students and staff from all national sections and grade levels. The IC is open Monday-Friday from 0830-1600 hours during the school year.
In addition it is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 1600-1730 hours for Academic Coaching.
